[Guido and the giant prairie chicken in Rothsay]
[Gotta watch where you walk around here]
[The giant otter in Fergus Falls]
[The rainbow over Ashby]
[Ben enjoying his ice cream with the giant coot in Ashby]
Today we finally made it back to our home state of Minnesota. We found our way through Fargo and Moorhead without too much difficulty. Then it was a simple matter of following highway 52, and later 88 down to Fergus Falls. Today was the day of very large animal statues! There was a prairie chicken, an otter, and a coot. From Fergus Falls we jumped on the Central Lakes bike trail and followed it down to the town of Ben's first teaching position - Ashby, MN. We once again were light on our bikes as this was the final day that Ben's parents were with us carrying our bags and meeting us at rest stops. We will miss them. We are spending the night at the Ashby Resort on Pelican Lake. It is an absolutely beautiful spot, although the showers are bitterly cold. Aside from the down pour at dinner time, (and even that was followed by a spectacular rainbow) the evening has been most pleasant. Ben and I are just about ready to head out fishing with John Kent, an old colleague that lives on Pelican Lake. More fish stories to follow...
